This class is focused on preparing children for Kindergarten. They will learn everything from writing their first and last names to knowing all their letters and sounds. We will also introduce the beginning steps in reading. Our teaching style includes hands-on learning as well as visual learning. We have a great balance in teaching academics along with socialization skills. They will receive both as well as have a day filled with fun learning that they won’t want to leave. Everyday we will have specials which will include science experiments, music and movement, physical education and gym time.

Schedule:

Arrival: Your child loves coming to school to see their friends and explore new things. They can read their name and finds their place at the table to start their day.

Circle Time: Our fours’ are active participants in the classroom routine. Your child loves demonstrating his knowledge of the calendar, letters, numbers, Sign Language, Spanish and many other topics!

Small group activities: Your child has a great time pretending with their friends in different learning centers. They will get a chance to do a science experiment, work on math and language skills, be the “dad” or “mom” in the dramatic play area or play a board game with their friends.

One-on-one time: Each day, your child gets time with the teacher to work on individualized skills and lessons; your child’s teacher wants to know their strengths and weaknesses to give them the very best preschool experience. Your child may work on handwriting, reading, spelling, or mathematics.

Arts and Crafts: Your child will love to use their imagination to create a masterpiece. They love talking about what they are making and showcasing the work when they are finished.

Music and Movement/Gross Motor Activities: Our fours’ love sports, team games, and competitions. They love to run around, creating new adventures. In Physical Education classes, we develop our muscles and gain more control and coordination.
